This coin was minted to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The obverse face depicts portraits of George Washington, first President of the United States, and Calvin Coolidge, the 30th and then-current President of the United States. The reverse of the coin depicts an image of the Liberty Bell flanked by the dates 1776 and 1926. The reverse legend reads, “SESQUICENTENNIAL OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE” and the denomination.
