Offered here is a beautiful and historic 1933 Century of Progress Silver So-Called Dollar (HK-870) commemorating the famed Chicago World’s Fair. Struck for the Century of Progress International Exposition, this impressive medal celebrates technological innovation and American resilience during the depths of the Great Depression. The 1933 fair was designed to showcase a century of scientific advancement following the 1833 incorporation of Chicago. Cataloged as HK-870 in Hibler & Kappen. Graded NGC MS64 by Numismatic Guaranty Company. Weight: Approximately 1 Troy Ounce. Outstanding luster with strong cartwheel effect. Excellent eye appeal for the grade. This example displays vibrant original mint luster across both obverse and reverse. The surfaces are clean for the grade, with only minimal marks consistent with a certified MS64 designation. The strike is sharp, and the overall presentation is highly attractive – a premium-quality representative of this popular World’s Fair issue. So-called dollars from the 1933 exposition are highly collectible due to their historical context and limited distribution. Pieces in certified Mint State with strong eye appeal continue to see steady collector demand. A wonderful opportunity to own a tangible piece of 1930s American history in solid NGC-certified condition.
