The 1922 Grant Memorial Half Dollar was issued to commemorate the centennial of his birth. With a mintage of just 67,405 pieces for the “no star” variety, this issue saw relatively low distribution compared to other early commemorative half dollars. This MS65 CAC example has surfaces radiate with brilliant cartwheel luster and display a lovely, crusty, silver-white patina. The strike is exceptionally sharp, particularly on the cabin and surrounding trees on the reverse. The eye appeal is outstanding, with clean fields and crisp design elements throughout. Finding this issue with such pristine surfaces and CAC approval is quite remarkable.
